Our program strives to provide the best baseball experience for the youth in our community. Our baseball program has in-house leagues for ages 4 through 15 who wish to learn organized baseball and travel teams for ages 7½ through 19, where tryouts are required. The following is a description of each league in the White Marsh Baseball program: Tee-Ball: This league is an introduction to baseball. The players learn basic rules and skills. Batting is done from a Tee for the first few weeks. Players then progress to coach-pitch using underhand toss. Non-competitive games are played, and all participants receive a trophy. Games are typically two or three innings. Games will be played one time per week on Saturdays. The age group is 4 and 5 year olds and participants must be 4 by April 30 of the current year. CIinic: This league is for skills development. The players learn positions, rules and game basics. The season begins in a team bat-around format. The coaches pitch overhand and every player hits. The second half of the season introduces strike-outs and put-outs. Teams bat until three outs are made or the entire team has batted. Non-competitive games are played, and no scores are kept. All participants receive a trophy. There are two games per week, one game played during a weekday evening at 6:00 pm and the second game played on Saturdays during the day. The age group is 6 and 7 year olds. Little League: This league is for skills development and is the first introduction to children's pitching. The league emphasizes positions, skills development and team play. Little League rules are used, the children pitch from 40 feet and there is no base stealing. There are player evaluations and the teams are drafted in order to balance the league. Pitching machines are used for Saturday games. No league standings are kept and every player receives a trophy.
